Budapest? So travelling is always something that has interested me but i never really knew where to start, Ive never been lucky enough to have a travelling companion so now that i do i will take every chance i get to travel. It was approaching my better half's birthday so my first thought was "What do i buy?" my next thought was "How about going away?" We had only been home from a short stay in Amsterdam ( If you haven't been you have to! its beautiful! ) for a few days as soon as i thought of going away i dropped a few hints and he liked the idea so there we have it, i booked it as soon as i could.

My favourite parts:
1. Mr Funk
This place was amazing! if you're anything like me then you'll love places that go the extra mile, It is a donut and bagel company that also sell freak shakes. The address is Arany Janos u. 19-21, 1051 Hungary located in the town centre. Also if you love unicorns then this place will be pure heaven.
Cost: 2399,- Which is just under £7 with the current conversion rate.
2. Budapest Cat Cafe:
Yes you heard me a CAT CAFE!!
I didn't think the trip could get any better but i was most certainly wrong! Got to say there cats are more like lions but they where beautiful! Address: Revay u 3, 1065 Hungary Located close to the town centre.
Entry fee: Free
Drinks: Tea and Coffee Together: 2000 = £5.78 (Including a tip of 600 Forint)
I loved the fact they where freely aloud to do whatever they like! Jump on tables and basically jump wherever they wanted.
3. The liberty statue on the Gellert Hill
So my first thought on this one was "Really? Im going to die climbing that" Got to say it wasn't as hard as i had expected! it was a lot of fun and the view at the top was divine! id say it took about 20 mins in total to get to the top, Which makes me sound incredibly lazy! Again this is completely free. There was also some cute little market stalls / huts selling local souvenirs and traditional food. The prices where a lot higher up there as you can expect, It was a tourist hot spot After all.
What does the statue statue stand for?
So with all statues as i'm sure you know they all have a meaning behind them, This one commemorates those who sacrificed their lives for the independence, freedom and prosperity of Hungary. It was built in 1947 in remembrance of what was referred to as the soviet liberation of Hungary during World War II.
How did we get around?
So when we arrived at the airport we thought we may as well get 72hour tickets so that we could use the travel on the other days, at our prior trip to Amsterdam our hotel was pretty far out of town but here our hotel was basically in the centre so we only use the pass to get to Budapest.
There is Buses, Trams and Metros as well as little tour buses to get you to certain tourist places. Bikes where also a big thing as well as Segways and electric scooters! Your really do have your Choice!
Prices:
Ive got to say they where all low compared to else where a Segway tour was a lot cheaper than lets say London! I didn't go on them as it just seemed far to scary but i'm sure they would have been a lot of fun.
Food Costs:
So to be honest we didn't really go to any restaurants other than one, Im a vegetarian so i seem to become very picky as i'm too worried that there will be meat inside due to previous experiences, We ate at a humous bar which would normally be pretty pricy! the wraps where pretty big! if i wasn't starving there would be no chance of me eating as much as i had! Cost worked out at about £3 each which as you can imagine is pretty damn cheap!
Supermarket food:
So i do love going into foreign food shops in the UK so going to them abroad is even more fun for me! the prices again where cheap! obviously as stated before if its next to a hot spot the prices where a lot higher but overall even the high prices where still cheap, A large bag of Haribos was about 80p Drinks which would normally retail for about £1.60 where about 90p or so.
